Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for our Medical Oncology team in the Las Vegas area. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with clinical physicians and healthcare team members in overseeing the assessment and genetic testing of ambulatory adult oncology patients.

The APP Oncology Genetic Counselor will:


Provide services to patients and families with higher than average risk for cancer.


Perform history and comprehensive interview with the patient/family member.


Collect data related to the genetic profile.


Perform medical records review to determine appropriate genetic testing.


Order appropriate genetic testing.


Receive, review and analyze genetic testing results.


Communicate testing results with patients.


Make recommendations for follow-up care.


Communicate outcome of genetic testing and assessment to referring physicians.


Promote excellent patient care and customer service.


Serve as a role model in clinical knowledge and practice.


Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.


Effectively secure and deploy resources to assure timely testing.


Model exceptional communication skills.

Well Qualified Candidates will possess:


Current unrestricted Nevada NP or PA licensure


Master's Degree in Nursing or Master’s Physician Assistant


Oncology experience strongly preferred


Certification in Genetic Counseling, or willingness to attend Company sponsored Genetic Counseling Certification program.


Demonstrated ability to educate others with outstanding communication skills.


Analytical skills to evaluate patient's status, and techniques to achieve a high quality evaluation of the health history with respect to genetic presentation and risk reduction.
