Position Description
The Education Specialist for Sterile Processing is a member of an interdisciplinary team and acts as the lead for learning in the instrument processing environment. This position assumes a variety of roles such as subject matter expert, coach, change agent, researcher, and consultant. The position is responsible for development of and implementing the Sterile Processing’s overall education program. Areas of emphasis include, but are not limited to, delivery of education to sterile processing employees, competency development and verification, orientation of newly hired sterile processing employees, and support for the sterile processing internship program.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED: 1. Associates degree in science or health-related field. 2. Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with demonstrated knowledge of instrument sterilization processing, sterile processing policies and procedures, sterile processing regulatory standards and requirements, and surgical procedures. 3. Two (2) years or more experience in training and/or education in sterile processing. 4. National certification through IAHCSSM or CBSPD PREFERRED: 1. Bachelor of Science or greater college degree. 2. Two (2) years or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience.

License/Certification Requirements: Yes

Work Hours: 7a-3:30p

Weekend Requirements: No

On-Call Requirements: No
