LVN - Urgent Care Clinic, Marina Del Rey
Administer medications (as directed) and record medications in patient medical record. Recognize symptomatology of common medical illnesses. Ensure correct charting procedures. Provide support and act as a liaison between patient, family, and health care providers. Perform 12 lead EKG's routinely and also in emergencies. Recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to physician. Perform CPR and assist patients in an emergency situation. Accurately record temperatures on all refrigerators and freezers. Perform vision and hearing tests as requested. Stock exam rooms as needed. Set up exam rooms for procedures including, but not limited to, sigmoidoscopies, pelvic examinations, thoracentesis, and lumbar punctures, colposcopies. Prepare information for physician for specialized visits such as Well Child Visits, Well-female information sheet for PSA, VIS immunizations. Assist in orientation of new staff and medical externs. Assist in the orientation new health care personnel to the physical set up, equipment and general policies and procedures within the clinic. Understand and adhere to all specific safety regulations regarding Blood borne Pathogens and other hazardous material.
Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
Possess active LVN license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
Possession of active CPR certification/BCLS.
Possession of active EKG, Phlebotomy and IV Certification.
Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance.
