Nurse Practitioner II-Orthopedic Surgery Oncology
The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate "standardized procedures" (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). Provide and coordinate the care of Orthopaedic Surgery patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered.
The Nurse Practitioner reports to the designated medical director for clinical practice and designated person for administrative issues.
This position does float between Santa Monica and Westwood, but is based out of Santa Monica.
Master's degree from an NP program, NP License/RN license and National Certification. State of California NP license, National Certification (i.e. ANCC).
Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel
Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions
Ability to run a clinic and bill independently
Ability to set priorities
Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
Document patient care in an concise and comprehensive manner
2-5 years' experience working as an RN or NP in Orthopedics preferred. Oncology experience strongly preferred
Experience working with Ortho Trauma preferred
