RN Per Diem Clinical Nurse Oncology Infusion Ctr
Direct patient care for the Hematology/Oncology/Transplant Patient Population undergoing treatment and infusions. Care also afforded for those patietns from other specialties undergoing treatment: rheumatology, immunology, dermatology, research and other transplant services. The nurse is responsibile for perfoming assessments of their patients and implemening the plan of care. Nurses work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate the gaols of care for a patient and to direct any care management decisions. Other responsibilities include: patient education, instilling patient safety and promoting the application of critical thinking in managing the care of patients while incorporating best practices.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current active California RN licensure. Clinical skills applicable to nursing speciality, Oncology. Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral status assessments of patients using appropriate framework. Demonstrated skill in the delivery of patient care, utilizing team, and total, primary or fucntional systems. Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis. Writing skills to document accurately interventions and patient response. Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family and staff. Knowledge of POMR charting. Skill in setting priorities, organizing interventions and direct staff. Ability to work effectively with stress and in crisis situtations. Ability to comply with departmental standards on punctuality, attendance, dress codes, varied work schedules and nursing practices. Knowledge and practice in the proper use of safe body mechanics.

2 years of chemotherapy infusion experience, preferred
Active chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification, required
