Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 522-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 364-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890, Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center, specializing in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. Position Summary

Has knowledge of community health concepts, principles of ambulatory clinical nursing care, case management and care coordination. Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/ family, utilizes best practice to maximize patient engagement and patient self-management efforts. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission and core values.

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • BSN Preferred, encouraged to obtain within 3-years of assuming role

Work Experience Requirements

  • One year experience preferred

  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current Colorado RN license/ Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact

  • Current BLS from American Heart Association required, ACLS may be required depending on clinic setting

  • RNs Certification in Ambulatory Nursing through the AAACN, preferred

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
