What You Will Do:

Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Practice Development Coordinator (Clinical Educator) - Oncology - Full-Time Rotate @UM BWMC

Position Highlights:
  • 40 hours per week
  • Rotating Schedule
  • Provides clinical and staff development
  • Ensures the clinical competence of nursing staff
  • Fosters the delivery of evidenced-based nursing practice
  • Facilitates the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development
  • Conducts orientation, in-service education and continuing education programs.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practices and research that focuses on the knowledge and skills required to care for patients in the assigned area, including quality improvement, safety and regulatory/accreditation requirements Influences care outcomes by providing expert consultation and implementing improvements in health care delivery
  • Partners with the unit leadership team and staff regarding patient care and staff performance issues
  • Participates in setting standards
  • Maintains knowledge and skills in the areas to which assigned
  • Serves as a role model in creating a professional nursing climate within the organization

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Maryland
  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Current registration with Maryland State Board of Nursing
  • 3 years clinical nursing experience required/3-5 years Oncology RN experience preferred
  • 2 years of adult, demonstrated, educational teaching required
  • Certification in a nursing specialty (Oncology, Med/Surg, Nursing Professional Development) required or obtained within 2 years of date of hire or transfer into position
