What You Will Do:

Under general supervision, performs the role and responsibilities of a mental health professional providing psychiatric counseling and case management to patients and their families in an outpatient mental health program. Provides individual, group and family counseling to patients who are identified as needing psychiatric services. Coordinates specific nursing functions within the outpatient program. Functions within a multidisciplinary practice model. Assumes nursing leadership in outpatient and community settings to impact on care delivered to the identified patient population.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Education and Experience

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required. B.S.N. or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Certification by American Nurses Association in psychiatric and mental health practice preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical psychiatric nursing experience is required.
