What You Will Do:

Come elevate your skills and experience by working with a world class 800-bed, Magnet designated Academic Medical Center with comprehensive and technologically advanced surgical suites.Our General Operating Room is a 52,000 square foot operating facility comprised of 22 operating rooms for adult and pediatric patients, and two additional minor procedure rooms. It is supported by a 28 bed PACU with an 8 bed pre-op area. General OR performs surgeries on the patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric for both inpatient and outpatient procedures.

This role is aimed for the nurse who is a clinical and professional leader at the unit level. He/she advances evidence based practices, leads unit governance initiatives, and mentors others to achieve and grow in the role of the professional nurse. As a senior clinical member of the practice partnership at the unit level, serves as a leader, change agent, and coordinator of patient care services for General Operating Room. Leadership role in overall design and implementation of a patient centered care delivery system that facilitates achievement of patient outcomes, supports continuity of care and patient flow between care delivery sites, and enhances patient safety and care giver satisfaction. Monitor the quality and cost effectiveness of nursing practice and governance systems at the unit level. Accountable to patients and families for the processes and outcomes of care during an episode of care. Accountable to peers for the advancement of group practice on the unit, and to the nurse manager for the totality of work performance.

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BSN required).
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Relevant clinical work experience related to practice on the unit.
  • Maintenance of 20 contact hours of education every two years.
  • Member of a professional organization.
