MENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Shift: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Chief Psychologist, plans, coordinates and implements the case management, jail diversion and linkage activities for mentally ill detainees at Cook County Jail.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an approved school of social work is required. (Must provide official transcript at time of interview.)

  • Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker under the Illinois Social Worker’s Registration Act is required. (Must provide proof at time of interview.)

  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible work in case management in a mental health environment, including two (2) years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.

  • MUST MEET ALL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AT TIME OF APPLICATION FILING.

    A copy of a valid State ID Card or Driver’s License which identifies the holder of the ID as a Veteran, may also be attached to the application at time of filing.

    Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States' territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Original credentialing documents must be presented at time of interview.
