The Registered Nurse in Day
Surgery is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care to the patient undergoing
an operative procedure. The quality of
care given in the peri-operative area will be in keeping with the philosophy,
mission and values of Orange Park Medical Center and the Department of Nursing.
The nurse will maintain and support the standards of care and practice in order
to meet the needs of patients, their families and the community.
The Registered Nurse prescribe,
delegates and coordinates all nursing care and patient teaching provided
throughout the hospital while striving to promote harmony in the unit. The RN is responsible for meeting all
standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care. This is a highly visible role with a large degree
of physician as well as patient interaction.
Provides and documents patient care based on the nursing process in
compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Plans, delegates and coordinates the nursing
care of assigned patients.
Utilizes basic physical and psychosocial assessment skills to identify
actual nursing diagnosis/clinical problems based on assessment of patient and
unique age specific needs.
The Registered Nurse will work to support and protect the rights of
each patient served, treats each patient with dignity and care, and maintains
