Position Description
The Research Nurse I will be responsible for rendering patient care services to patients on research protocols approved through the Northside Hospital IRB. Responsibilities involve patient registration, data collection, data submission, adverse event reporting, patient follow-up, records management, protocol regulatory management, quality assurance and other activities related to research. Major roles of the Research Nurse include those of practitioner, researcher, educator and consultant. The Research Nurse is a professional person with knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: specific disease management nursing, data management, physical assessment skills, leadership ability and communication skills.
Position Requirements
Accredited degree as a Registered Nurse (RN). One (1) year of relevant work experience in a clinical setting. Experience using spreadsheet, database and word processor applications. Knowledge about clinical research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

License/Certification Requirements: Yes

Work Hours: 8a-4:30p

Weekend Requirements: No

The high quality of our research program has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as demonstrated by our designation as a primary core clinical center for the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT-CTN). We join only 19 other elite BMT programs (and are the only one in Georgia) in becoming a primary recipient of this competitive award and status.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute have also established a network of sites for clinical trial testing of innovative blood cancer therapies in community oncology settings across the country. This groundbreaking Blood Cancer Research Partnership (BCRP) brings clinical trials closer to where patients live and helps to address one of the primary bottlenecks in the development of new cancer therapies: the need for more patients to take part in trials. The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at Northside Hospital is one of 10 sites who have been selected to participate in this prestigious partnership
