Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Orange Module in our Ambulatory Care Center to join our team in Wilmington, DE.

This position is Monday-Friday; some evening hours based on department need.

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in the primary care pediatrics practices and allergy practices as directed by providers. The position is responsible for patient flow and assisting providers as necessary with examination, procedures and administration of immunizations that are adapted to the patient's development stage.
  1. Performs patient assessments.
  2. Works collaboratively with physicians, physician assistants and other health care providers in the outpatient area to provide care to patients with a variety of neurological conditions.
  3. Performs and documents patient intake (height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure, reason for visit, chief complaint).
  4. Performs phlebotomy, via venipuncture or capillary techniques, to obtain blood specimens. Transcribes, collects, labels and arranges transport for lab specimens. Performs back office laboratory tests.
  5. Administers immunizations, oral and/or injectable medications. Administers PPD and interprets results.
  6. Orders and stocks appropriate inventory of medical/surgical supplies for lab and exam rooms.
  7. Provides age- and developmentally appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents and adults.
  8. Monitors patient flow, including preparing patients and rooms for all visit types.
  9. Responsible for stocking and maintaining medications for use in clinic.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday; hours may vary from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Must be flexible with work hours.

Requirements
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred.
  • Must have an active Delaware nursing license.
  • Must be willing to obtain Pennsylvania license.
  • Outpatient experience preferred.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • BSN required.
  • CPR certification with the American Heart Association required.
