"I became a nurse because my mom had epilepsy and was in and out of the hospital my whole childhood.  I always dreamed that I would become a nurse to help take care of people and their families like the nurses took care of my mom, brother, and myself when she was in the hospital.  I didn't know I wanted to be an ER nurse until I went to EMT school and volunteered with Colleton County Fire & Rescue and saw all the "cool and interesting" injuries from wrecks.  Then I became a tech in the ER and it sealed the deal.  I had found my new work family and second home."  Whitney Bishop, Emergency Room RN
