A Physician Assistant serves as a member of BocaCare and effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues for patients. Urology experience is required for this position.


  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

  • Have computer proficiency with clinical programs.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Have knowledge and proficiency of Local, State, and Federal regulations related to specific clinical areas.

  • Further dialogue related to EMR integration.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teaching skills.

  • Create positive relationships with physicians assuring consistent, accurate information regarding their patients care.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and excellent judgment when faced with unanticipated events and changing outcomes while maintaining a positive and compassionate demeanor.

  • Be proactive in developing and enhancing processes with the goal of improving the clinical experience for patients, their families and healthcare providers.

  • Demonstrate a passion and a comprehensive clinical based understanding for health issues.

  • Work in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.

  • Responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues specific to patients.

  • Educates patients and/ or families about preventative care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and /or medications.

  • Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature or "hands on training" and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.

  • Review literature, methodology, outcomes, and implications of nursing/ medical research and disseminates findings.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records. Electronic documentation (dictation) of all medical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations consistent with national and state regulatory standards.

  • Recognize the influence of beliefs and cultures on behaviors and accept strengths and limitations in others.

  • Exhibit calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations.

  • Recognize situations which require notification of a supervisor.

  • Write reports, clinical pathways, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

  • Consult with primary care and specialty physicians regarding patients care and referrals.

  • Communicate in a mutually collaborative manner and demonstrate openness to constructive feedback with the intent of improving professional practice.

  • Complete assignments with promptness and accuracy.

  • Meet deadlines for all tasks assigned.

  • Prioritize work assignments and complete tasks in a timely fashion.

  • Be an active contributor in all customer service initiatives.

  • Be proactive in providing hospitality to all BocaCare/BRRH's patients, families, visitors, employees and physicians.

  • Serve as an ambassador for BocaCare/BRRH.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's degree (MS) and/or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program


  • Minimum of two years physician assistant experience in a private practice or hospital outpatient setting


  • Urology Experience Required, Urology Oncology Experienced Preferred.


  • Current State of Florida PA license.

  • Certification in specialty; Women Health, Family Practice and or Adult Practice (preferred)

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.

The person in this location will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.

In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program. Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season. As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
