What You Will Do:

University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team as a member of the Critical Care Medicine Team in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit. The Acute Care NP performs examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care to patients requiring a variety of cardiac surgical interventions, including ventricular assist devices, heart-lung transplant, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and other cardiac diagnoses. Professional practice is in conjunction with the Critical Care Medicine Team.

What You Need to Be Successful:

The successful candidate will have completed a Nurse Practitioner program at the Masters level, with acute care NP certification. Maryland licensure, and prior NP and/or cardiac surgery critical care clinical experience is also necessary. Newly graduated Nurse Practitioners with cardiac surgery intensive care experience are encouraged to apply, as well as those with general surgical intensive care experience.

PAs must have successfully completed a Physician Assistant training program and must obtain a Maryland license.

The position offers a full time, day/night rotating shift schedule with weekend and holiday coverage.
