Adolescent Mental Health Counselor -Bilingual Spanish- Part Time
In the Ambulatory Care Network at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, our Mental Health professionals unites the most respected minds in research, education and care. The Lang Youth Medical Program is a medical pipeline, academic enrichment, and youth development program for youth representing the diversity of the Washington Heights and Inwood communities. It is designed to foster academic achievement and develop its students’ habits of mind and life skills in order to position them on the path to a four-year college education and future careers in the health sciences.
Step into this pivotal role as a Adolescent Mental Health Counselor, where you will be exposed to a large knowledge base, and build skills in a wide range of therapies, treatments, and patient groups. Oversee the mental health screenings of students ages 12-18 and work primarily with spanish speaking parents to help provide psycho-educational support. Train staff and parents about the importance of mental health and assess the need for referrals for internal or external counseling.
The shift for this position is flexible. Two Saturdays per month are required. This is an 18.75 hours per week position.
Bilingual Spanish/EnglishExperience providing support to adolescents, ages 12-18
Masters degree in Psychology or equivalentMinimum of one-year experience in administering and scoring psychological, neuro-psychological, or educational testsProficiency with MS Word, Excel and Windows
