Primary Function of the Nurse Practitioner
This individual will work collaboratively with physicians, consultants, nurses and other health care practitioners, dedicating his/her specialized practice to patients in Dermatology. Our patient population ranges from newborns to young adults with acute and chronic skin conditions. We primarily see children in the outpatient clinic, but other responsibilities include inpatient and ED consults.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Obtain medical history, perform physical exam, order/ interpret laboratory data, prescribe medications and write progress notes in the electric medical record.
  2. Coordinate and manage ongoing patient care with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented. Over time, the expectation is that the nurse practitioner will be seeing patients independently with physician support.
  3. Interact with and educate families about skin disease and treatment.

Requirements
  1. Master of Science in Nursing.
  2. 5 years of pediatric clinical experience.
  3. Must have or be eligible for Registered Nurse in the state of Delaware.
  4. Must have or be eligible for Certified Nurse Practitioner License in the state of Delaware with prescriptive authority.
