Grand Strand Medical Center is offering a new service line at our South Strand location opening in early January of 2018. A 20 Bed Behavioral Health adult inpatient unit, offering patients the latest behavioral health treatments including cognitive therapy and individualized psychotherapy. Our inpatient program allows behavioral health patients to undergo treatment in a safe, therapeutic environment with 24/7 access to psychiatric and medical professionals.
Conducts initial and ongoing data collection regarding patients individually and in groups and uses that data to initiate appropriate therapeutic intervention.
Identifies potential risk factors and communicates observations to the MD and treatment team. Implements interventions under the direction of the MD; such as safety levels, room programs, seclusion, restraint, etc. according to policy and procedure including associated documents.
Utilizes the multi-disciplinary treatment plan and own knowledge and skill to guide interventions with patients.
Provide comprehensive care to patients as assigned including physical, as well as psychological care. Contributes to the plan of care and revision of that plan.
Documents observations, interventions and outcomes in the medical record according to policy and procedure.
Provides educational information to patients and families.
Plan, lead or co-lead groups and activities with patients and documents observations in the medical record. Assess patients for appropriateness for inclusion in activities.
Assists with patient and family education regarding treatment issues and documents on patient and family education form.
