Service Area Overview
Northside Hospital is one of the largest and most respected providers of comprehensive cancer services in the Southeast, combining the latest in technology and research with compassionate patient-centered care. The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute offers the best of both worlds: clinical excellence on par with academic-based programs, along with the personalized and attentive care typically associated with a community hospital. Our Program has received an Outstanding Achievement Award as a fully accredited Comprehensive Community Hospital Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer. Specialty areas include BMT, Women's, Prostate, and Research.

Position Description
Provides nursing assistance and patient care for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties within the construct of a unit based, self directed, multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non licensed members. Performs general clerical and reception duties according to needs of patient unit or department. Position is characterized by preparing and maintaining patient charts, transcribing physician orders, and entering information into computerized patient care system.

Position Requirements
Required: 1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant course, and be listed as a CNA on the Ga. Registry, OR a. Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course, OR b. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program and Certified as a Registered Medical Assistant. If eligible, must obtain certification within 30 days of hire, OR c. Enrolled in a School of Nursing and has completed one (1) full semester of clinical rotations, OR d. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Medical Degree program. 2. Current BLS card (CPR). Preferred: 1. Enrolled in a School of Nursing, and has either completed the first (1st) year of an Associate Degree program, or the second (2nd) year of a Bachelor of Science program. 2. One year patient care experience in an acute care setting
