Program Director – Magnet Nursing Excellence

In this role, you will drive the data process for NewYork-Presbyterian to become one of the nation’s largest Magnet-designated medical centers. The Program Director will be responsible for the creation, coordination, tracking, and maintenance of an electronic repository of exemplary professional practice examples, including sources of evidence and empirical outcomes. You’ll utilize your advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze large sets of data, create outcome graphs, and create professional reports. Attend shared governance activities to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing excellence standards. Educate nurses and other nurse leaders across the organization regarding comprehensive nursing excellence program.

Preferred Criteria

  • National Board certification
  • PhD or DNP
Required Criteria

  • Master’s degree
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (if not MSN prepared)
  • Current NYS RN licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Certification when eligible required
  • At least two years of clinical experience leading a team to Magnet designation or redesignation
  • Experience with writing an intial designation document or a redesignation document
  • Previous experience in data management, creating graphs, and outcome performance management
  • Advanced Excel skills
