A Clinical Nurse I (CN I), under supervision, provides patient and family centered care using the nursing process. The CN I will work with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based patient care, positive patient care experiences and quality outcomes. During the first year of practice, the CN I will make the transition from novice nurse to competent nurse in the professional nursing practice environment. The Internal Resource RN will have the skills necessary to care for all patients within the medical/surgical zone they are assigned. He/she will float to the unit assigned.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam.
BSN Preferred.
Must obtain 10 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.
License requirement: Registered Nurse
All RN's are required to have current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire
Must possess critical thinking and prioritization
Must be able to work in a loud, busy, fast paced environment
Must be computer literate or learn within 6 months, be able to follow written and oral instructions, be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
