Position Description
This position is part of a team whose primarily responsibility is to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the medical record. This individual will facilitate improvement through interaction with physicians and other members of the health care team to achieve clinical documentation that best reflect the patient's clinical status and reflective of the care provided. This position will also serve as an educational resource for all members of the health care team on an ongoing basis on issues related to clinical documentation.

Position Requirements
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Current RN license in Georgia. Minimum 5 years’ experience in nursing in an acute care setting through direct patient care, utilization review, case management or quality review. Ability to interact with a wide range of personnel (treating physicians, nurses, CDISs, case managers, quality staff, and coders). Excellent oral and written communications skills. Experience in CQI concepts and tools and techniques. Ability to interact with numerous facilities and departments. Proficiency in Excel and Word. Preferred: Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding conventions and clinical auditing processes. Revenue cycle and operations experience. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding conventions and clinical auditing processes or coding experience. CDIS Certification.

License/Certification Requirements: Yes
