Job Location
The Perioperative Education Regulatory Coordinator position is located in Indianapolis, IN

Job Duties
  • Functions as a member of the Quality Team as an expert resource in perioperative education including OR RN Residency Program based on AORN guidelines; BLS; ACLS; PALS; provide Mock drills for Malignant Hyperthermia and resuscitation; medication safety education; EKG refresher courses; Venous access
  • Develop, implement and maintain Surgery Orientation program
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission; AAAHC, CMS, other applicable regulatory organizations
  • Creating, implementing and maintaining education using evidence based practice to support patient and staff
  • Other regulatory responsibilities as needed relating to the regulatory standards of accrediting and licensure agencies
  • Works with all VEI managed sites (surgery centers, endoscopy centers and hospital surgery departments) in Indiana and Michigan;The ability to travel between Indiana and Michigan sites is required
  • Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new employees and experienced staff

Experience
Perioperative education and/or surgical experience STRONGLY preferred 
Certification within 6 months as a BLS, ACS, PALS instructor required

Education
Graduate of Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited school of nursing, or three years related professional nursing experience

License
Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within one year of employment
