Job Summary: The Medication Services Manager supplies leadership and targeted medication education and rehabilitation services to individuals with mental illness and their families. Utilizing medical knowledge and clinical judgment, assures the quality, timeliness and optimum level of patient care. Youll serve clients with special medical concerns such as diabetes, respiratory conditions or people receiving inject-able medications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Establishes procedures for the administration and control of client, OTC, and expired medications pursuant to pursuant to Title XXII.
Provides medication services training consistent with agency standards, practices and policies to medication services staff and interns.
Consults with program staff during admission and discharge and oversees medication services related administrative duties, including document production and audits.
Oversees medication services staff to ensure clients receive optimal care in a comfortable, clean, orderly and safe environment.
Ensures that all staff is following company policies and procedures and that the facility is meeting CCL medication regulations and standards.
Orders medications as needed so as to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet client prescribed needs including PRN medications.
Execute patient care responsibilities consistently in the absence of physician, and respond to on-call emergencies in a prompt manner.
Participate in team care management and assist psychiatrist to meet client needs and improve client functioning.
Completes clinical records and other required documentation in accordance with agency, Payer and regulatory requirement, utilizing paper or computer technology as required.
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum licensing requirement Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Psychiatric Technician or a Registered Nurse.
One (1) year working in a mental health setting required and preferably one year of experience in handling medications in a residential setting. Appropriate volunteer and internship experience will be considered.
Current First Aid and CPR Certification.

This is a full-time or part-time position and salary depends on experience and credentials, in a small program with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere and the ability to be hands on and gain valuable experience. You may be required to work one (1) weekend day and four (4) week days.
