Job Description

As a CNA in our community, you play a key role in providing exceptional care to our community of residents. We are looking for an energetic, upbeat and compassionate individual to add to our growing team. This center will give you the opportunity to learn, grow and be an important asset to our patients daily lives. Your job duties will include creating a supportive, comfortable, and orderly environment, and consistently providing quality resident care with a person-centered approach.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Perform and document basic resident care duties and follow care guides, including: making beds; bathing residents in a safe and dignified manner while encouraging independence, and all activities of daily living related care, such as skin care, preventative and supportive care, routine morning and evening mouth care, shaving, and dressing.

  • Perform and document feeding and nutritional intake, blood pressure, TPRs, catheter care, bowel/bladder training, weights, turning, positioning, range of motion, and ambulation.

  • Support physical, psychological, occupational, speech, restorative and recreational therapies by helping residents to and from these activities.

  • Label and care for residents clothing and personal items to ensure that these items are not misplaced or lost.

  • Participate in the collecting and sharing of resident information with authorized staff members, including observation of significant changes in resident conditions.

  • Promote a safe and comfortable environment for giving care.

  • Protect the safety and dignity of all residents.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an approved nurse aide training program

  • CNA; State of Michigan

  • 1+ year of CNA or related experience preferred.

  • Good English communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors and staff.

  • Basic computer skills; experience utilizing electronic charting a plus.

  • Fine motor coordination with the ability to write clearly and to take accurate temperature and blood pressure readings.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish necessary tasks.
