Outpatient Clinical Nurse (LVN/RN)
Our busy orthopaedic practice located in Plano, Texas has an immediate need for a Texas licensed LVN or RN. The candidate should possess a strong desire to learn about sports medicine, joint replacement, orthopaedic oncology, infections, limb salvage and chronic wound care. The ideal candidate would be energetic, organized, independent and able to think critically in a variety of situations. Candidate must be able to work closely with the providers in the clinic and maintain communication while they are at any of the three local hospitals to which we provide services.
The office/clinical nurse position has been newly created as our practice has an increased volume and complexity of patients. We are interviewing both LVN and RN candidates.
The position will be Monday through Friday 0830-1700 with compensated overtime at varying times. We are willing to discuss flexibility of hours for the ideal candidate. Hourly pay rate is commensurate with licensure, education, and experience. Healthcare benefits are available at 90 days of employment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in clinic: room patients, perform patient intake and medication reconciliation, perform dressing changes, remove sutures/staples, collect samples for laboratory testing (if phlebotomy trained LVN), perform shoulder, hip and knee joint injections (after on-site training).
Triage and respond to incoming telephone calls/emails
Process and complete medication refill requests
Collect, sort and perform first level analysis of lab, culture and diagnostic results
Critically analyze and forward pertinent results to the correct provider
Communicate with patients and/or family members
