Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.


    Responsible for coordinating an effective hospital-wide program for the surveillance including policy/procedure development, infection surveillance, data collection, analysis and reporting, intervention, consultation and coordination of Infection Control Committee activities.

    RN Manager-Quality Analyst


Supervises


    Indirectly supervises all employees, students, visitors and volunteers in the area of Infection Control issues.

Qualifications


    Education


      Required: BSN or MSN or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within 1 year of hire and completion within 5 years of hire if hired after July 1, 2012


    Licensure/Certification


      Required: CA RN License, CPR


    Experience


      Required: Minimum five (5) years experience in acute clinical setting. Minimum two (2) years in infection control in a health care setting.


Essential Responsibilities


    Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

    Assists in investigating and reporting hospital-acquired infections.

    Promotes hospital-wide participation in the infection control program.

    Acts as a resource for infection control questions from physicians and hospital staffs.

    Collect, analyze and report infection control information and results throughout medical staff and hospital committee structures.

    Assist with other Quality Improvement processes and Risk Management issues.

    Coordinates Quality Improvement studies as directed.

    Assists to prepare and maintain policies and procedures related to Infection Control, which insure hospitals compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.

    Presents orientation and in-service programs for hospital staff.

    Serves as member of hospital committees as assigned: Safety Committee, Infection Prevention, Education Committee, P&T Committee, Valve Analysis and others as needed.

    Serves as a resource to other EMC entities for infection control and related issues.

    Administer immunizations to staff and/or patients, as needed.

    Support the Magnet culture by coordinating nursing quality programs related to hand hygiene and other pertinent infection prevention practices.
