JOB TITLE: Cath Lab RN
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates nursing care and patient/family education for Adult, and Geriatric patients through the use of the nursing process; maintains positive working relationships with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice. These responsibilities are met according to hospital policy, hospital mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.
Demonstrates knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patients served. The nurse must be able to assimilate basic knowledge and patient related data to perform a comprehensive and age appropriate assessment, using the total patient care concept to identify each patient requirements and specific needs. Must be able to take call and Specialty Certification.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Operationally, the Staff RN reports to the Department Director and House Supervisor and administratively to the Chief Nursing Officer.
REQUIREMENTS: 1.) Possess current licensure to practice nursing in Texas 2.) Must be certified in BCLS 4.) ACLS
RECOMMENDED: 1.) 2 years Cath Lab experience preferred 2.) Experience in cardiac rhythm recognition
OSHA TASK CATEGORY ONE: There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
