SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates nursing care and patient/family education for Newborn, Adolescent, and Adult patients through the use of the nursing process; maintains positive working relationships with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice. These responsibilities are met according to hospital policy, hospital mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Demonstrates knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patients served. The nurse must demonstrate familiarity with the principles of growth and development throughout the life cycle. The nurse must be able to assimilate basic knowledge and patient related data to perform a comprehensive and age appropriate assessment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Operationally, the Staff RN reports to the Unit Team Leader, Department Manager and the House Supervisor, and administratively to the Chief Nursing Officer.
REQUIREMENTS: 1.) Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing 2.) Possess current licensure to practice nursing in Texas 3.) Must be certified in BCLS 4.) Current NRP 5.) Annual fetal monitoring training or obtain within 6 months of date of hire.
RECOMMENDED: 1.) ACLS 2.) Specialty Certification 3.) S.T.A.B.L.E Class every 2 years
