RN Staff Educator Nurse
Responsible for assisting and supporting the translation of the nursing philosophy of the
facility into nursing practice by participating in the planning, implementation and
evaluation of the nursing care delivery system. Assesses the educational needs of the
staff and plans, develops and implements training programs to meet those needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes, coordinates, documents and evaluates all education programs within

Plans and coordinates the completion of nursing training as per state regulations

Monitors, teaches and assesses staff performance during the clinical rotation
phase of the nursing assistant training program.
Evaluates and assesses nurse aide competencies at the completion of the training
Coordinates the state examination process for certification of Nursing Assistants.
Ensures compliance with state and federal requirements regarding training,
orientation, documentation and nursing care.
Administers and schedules staff physical assessment and two-stage Mantoux,
Hepatitis B and Flu vaccines.
Presents or coordinates in-services for new hires and required employees
covering the mandatory topic of fire and disaster plans, safety and accident
prevention, residents rights, infection control, exposure control,
privacy/confidentiality, psychosocial needs of the elderly, nutritional needs of
the elderly and oral care.
Acts as supervisor and demonstrates responsibility, as necessary, with

Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff
in a respectful, non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner.
Provides excellent service. Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately in a
professional manner and keeps the Executive Director informed. Assists in
resolution of the issues.
Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a
positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude.
Complies with all company, state and OSHA safety standards. Recognizes,
removes and/or reports potential hazards.
Communicates and observes the Corporate Compliance Program effectively and
complies with Code of Conduct when performing work functions.
Follows all infection control requirements.
Attends all mandatory in-service sessions and completes Silver Chair
requirements within required timelines.
Maintains resident confidentiality.
