POSITION SUMMARY

In collaboration with the healthcare team, the Unit Secretary coordinates and prioritizes patient, physician and staff needs. The key essential job functions of this role include customer focus, coordination of provider-entered orders, communication, patient experience activities and time management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Medical Terminology, clerical skills, related experience preferred

  • Proficient in basic computer skills

  • Unit Secretary with at least one-year experience preferred.

  • Completion of Hospital Unit Secretary orientation.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
