Job Purpose: This clinical professional with advanced skills, is responsible for supervising and coordinating the flow of patient care between the practice(s) and the Methodist Dallas Medical Center bariatric program. In conjunction with the Director of Nutrition Services, the Bariatric Coordinator is accountable for all aspects of the program including; quality of care, promotion of services and overall coordination of care. The Bariatric Coordinator will be responsible to promote excellence in clinical practices, optimal efficiency and productivity of all resources. The Bariatric Coordinator works with the community, medical staff, clinical staff and administration to ensure success of the bariatric program. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Education Bachelors degree (B.A., B.S.) in appropriate discipline; BSN is preferred Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
  • Certification in bariatrics preferred
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas

Related Work Experience and Other Skills
  • Must have a minimum of two years' experience serving in Bariatric Surgery
  • Two years of previous bariatric or nursing leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to initiate and execute the workload independently and effectively in a high stress environment.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concretevariables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates ability to exercise critical thinking skills, collect and analyze data and prepare and present well thought out ideas and recommendations.
  • Ability to prioritize as efficiently as possible. Ability to achieve results utilizing proactive problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication and is responsive to both patient and physician phonecalls. Interacts positively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Must be able to read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operatinginstructions and procedure manuals.
