Position Summary:
The Specialty Clinician functions as a part of the multidisciplinary team inclusive of the department director, the charge nurse, staff nurse, clinical assistant, ancillary staff, clinical educators to oversee clinical care and service excellence within the defined scope.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Expected to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Expected to be proficient in utilizing all clinical documentation systems appropriate to their specialty and Microsoft Office programs (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Expected to demonstrate knowledge of specialized equipment used in area of expertise
  • Ability to organize and direct the activity of others on a nursing unit
  • Expected to be responsible and accountable for the oversight and delivery of skilled professional patient care that is delivered based on recognized national standards of practice, BRCH policy and procedures, The Florida Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Expected to participate in the process improvement, professional education and committees and meetings to maintain competence.
  • Expected to mentor, support and educate the staff nurses and clinical assistants at the bedside
  • Expected to collaborate with the education department and clinical educators in developing area specific competencies and educational opportunities
  • Expected to have interpersonal skills and collaborative skills necessary to interact with all levels of nursing and ancillary staff
  • Expected to round with physicians, to anticipate physician needs and to collaborate effectively with physicians and other LIP

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Minimum of 3 years of Hospital perioperative RN experience
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • AORN, APIC, and AAMI certifications are strongly preferred
  • Must have excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

  • Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
  • The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
  • In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program. Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season. As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
