The Quality Improvement Department at Northside Hospital is committed to patient safety, quality service, and continuous improvement. Here in QI, we work to advance learning and system-wide improvements throughout the hospital, various outpatient sites, and the communities we serve.

Quality Improvement at Northside is a comprehensive effort that addresses numerous dimensions of quality including: clinical and service excellence; patient safety; continuous readiness; and operational efficiency. Our Department improves health care provider and system performance by maintaining a
program of continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards, by following AHRQ patient safety measures, through departmental and medical staff peer review, and by utilizing data from department-specific QI initiatives to guide performance improvement efforts.

Position Description
The Quality Improvement Specialist will be responsible for serving as a resource on continuous quality improvement and regulatory requirements for the hospital and medical staff. Prepares and ensures accuracy or reports and communicates quality improvement information and activities to appropriate committees, teams, and task forces for the hospital and medical staff. Serves as a communication link from committees, teams, and task forces to the medical staff. Maintains quality data for medical staff reappointment.

Position Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 3 years experience in a health care field with 1 year of experience related to quality improvement. Good oral and written communication skills. Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to function effectively with a wide variety of disciplines, including physicians and nurses. Ability to provide presentations on topics related to quality and regulatory issues. Able to participate as part of a team to accomplish an assigned project.

License/Certification Requirements: Yes

Work Hours: 8a-4:30p
