We are looking for experienced RNs to work in our Short Stay Observation unit.

The Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits and executes Baylor Scott & White Health's (BSWH) Values & Behaviors in delivering and coordinating patient care. Utilizing the BSWH nursing professional practice model, the RN is a licensed professional who is responsible for using clinical reasoning, developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care, managing both emotional and physical patients, assessing patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication and education, working collaboratively with medical staff and providing quality care in a compassionate and professional manner.
We are opening a new Short-Stay Observation unit! The unit will offer 23 hour observation with an average LOS > 1 day. This is an extremely fast-paced 20 bed unit with Tele capabilities. The nursing care team will include PCT support. The unit will be a catch-all with the majority of patients coming directly from the Emergency department.

Ideal Med Surg RNs will have a BSN, some hospital or acute care experience and great communication skills.

? Associate (ADN) degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree strongly preferred
§ RN license required
§ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
§ Minimum of 18 months of professional nursing experience on a busy Med Surg floor or Emergency setting

Note: If you have less than 6 months of experience, we recommend that you apply to our nursing internship program. Internships are available for new graduates and experienced nurses in a variety of specialties. New classes begin in January, June, and September.
