Part Time Position Available: 32 Hours/biweekly
Part Time position will receive: Life Insurance, 401k, Flexible Spending Account and Paid Time Off
Contingent positions available: 16 hours/biweekly (Fill in for PTO and Call ins)


Job Summary: Responsible for the coordination of residents care. Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse supervises the assigned nurse aides on each shift. Manages the Healthcare department and all non-exempt and contractual positions when the Director of Nursing is absent consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Society of Jesus.

Essential Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Leads and works with interdisciplinary care team members and the resident to develop, implement and evaluate a care plan which respects the needs and choices of the resident
  • Ensures that the care plan focuses on the holistic needs of the resident
  • Assesses regularly the residents needs and health care status each shift
  • Assists in the selection of new nurse aides
  • Supervises and works with nurse aides to develop their assessment and their communication and problem-solving skills
  • Reviews charts and other documentation from contractual staff, physicians and nurse aides and provides necessary follow up
  • Evaluates nurse aides that are scheduled on their shift. Reviews appraisal with the Director of Nursing before meeting with the individual employee
  • Assists the Director of Nursing to ensure that the Healthcare policies and procedures as well as the nursing protocols and standards of practice are followed
  • Assists in the replacement of staff who are absent. Covers shifts when needed
  • Provides new-hire training for nurse aides and other healthcare staff emphasizing person-centered care
  • Determines necessary levels of supplies and equipment and monitors their use
  • Meets regularly with the Director of Nursing to share resident, department and personnel information
  • Assists in providing departmental planning and evaluation of processes
  • Orders, administers and documents medication for residents
  • Updates physician orders in the medical charts daily
  • Administers injections in accordance with Colombiere Centers employee health program
  • Administers treatments and sterile or invasive nursing procedures
  • Communicates with physician offices to obtain orders and share residents medical information
  • Conducts shift change report
  • Ability to cooperate, work with and meet the needs of Jesuits who may be cognitively impaired, angry, confused, hostile or who display a variety of other emotional states, as well as those who are critically or terminally ill
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Job Qualifications [Education/Skills/Abilities]:

  • Possesses a Registered Nurse degree or a Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate from an accredited nursing program
  • Possesses valid State of Michigan Registered Nurse license or State of Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse license
  • Possesses minimum one to three years experience in nursing management position with emphasis in long-term and acute care
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal and supervisory/management skills
  • Knowledge of operation and utilization of health care equipment and supplies
  • Ability to cooperate, work with and meet the needs of Jesuits who may be cognitively impaired, angry, confused, hostile/volatile or other emotional states as well as those who are critically or terminally ill
