LPN (PACT), GS-0620-3/4/5/6, Primary & Specialty Medicine
GS-6 grade restricted duties include:
a. Demonstrated knowledge and skill to vary the order and sequence of policies, procedures and protocols based on patient's condition and clinic flow under the direction of the RN.
b. Demonstrated knowledge and skill of judgment in selecting the most appropriate application of procedures, guidelines, response/course of action.
c. Demonstrated knowledge and skill to accurately report and document significant patient information.
d. Demonstrated knowledge and skill to make judicious observations of subtle changes in patient condition and response to care that could require immediate modification of the patient's care plan. Accurately documents care delivered according to VA nursing practice standards.
e. Demonstrated proficiency in the initiation, performance, and completion of assigned duties in providing complex care to variable patient populations, male & female, ranging from young adult, adult and geriatric with physical, mental and emotional needs.
f. Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external St. Cloud VA stakeholders.
g. Demonstrated knowledge and skill to promptly recognize and respond to emergency situations.
h. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in daily facilitation of operational flow and care coordination in LPN/Health Technician (HT) clinics.
i. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in developing policies, procedures and protocols in collaboration with the clinical coordinators.
j. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in mentoring LPN, Health Technicians and other supporting staff in skill, proficiency and expertise development and provide feedback to clinical coordinators.
k. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in active participation in quality improvement activities.

- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or the National League for Nursing at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GS 3 -
No experience beyond the basic requirements.
GS 4 -
-Six months of qualifying experience as a LPN or LVN or
-Graduation from an approved school and one year of experience that involved nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures or
-Graduation from an approved school of at least 24 months duration
GS 5 -
-Completion of at least 1 year of qualifying experience at the GS 4 level or equivalent
GS 6 -
-Completion at least one year of qualifying experience tat the GS 5 level or equivalent, fully meeting all performance requirements for the GS 5 LPN/LVN
