  Assume the accountability, coordination, management and delivering of patient care in an Integrated Clinic (Radiation Oncology/Integrated Clinic). Major functions include but not limited to: Functioning as the point of contact for an individual service-line and working closely with team physician and other members; assisting charge nurse with clinic scheduling needs and daily flow; promoting quality and cost-effective patient care, including patient assessment, treatment, education and coordination; Providing guidance to hospital assistants, residents or students with patient care needs; preparing room or equipment set- up for patients undergoing procedures; Assisting physicians with procedures, including conscious or general anesthesia; Providing pre, intra and post procedure patient care; Providing clinical (radiation therapy, brachytherapy) coverage at the Westwood clinic and Santa Monica clinics.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current active California R.N. licensure and clinical skills applicable to nursing specialty. Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral status assessments of patients using appropriate framework. Demonstrated skill in the delivery of patient care, utilizing team, total, primary or functional systems. Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis. Writing skills to document accurately interventions and patient response. Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff. Knowledge of POMR charting. Skill in setting priorities, organizing workload to effectively administer direct patient care. Skill in speaking English clearly and distinctly to interpret and describe patient assessments and identify nursing interventions and direct staff. Ability to work effectively with stress and in crisis situations Ability to comply with departmental standards on punctuality, attendance, dress code and varied work schedules. Knowledge and practice in the proper use of safe body mechanics.
2 years or greater of Oncology experience as an RN, highly desired
BSN required BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred
Ambulatory Experience and Procedural experience preferred
Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
