Salary: $65/hr - $70/hr+ Depends on Experience
Overtime Rate: All Inclusive Rate + $10
Shift: Day/Night Shift, 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM
Full Job Description:
Southern Inyo Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and quick thinking ER Nurse to join our Emergency Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling initial patient assessments, performing laboratory work, point of care testing and associated administrative tasks. The ER registered nurse will also collaborate with ER doctors on discharge plans and create outpatient instructions for each patient that is not admitted to the hospital. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining care standards in the Emergency Room
- Assist with checking in patients, doing triage work for doctors and generating initial insurance paperwork
- Work closely with doctors to keep patients and their family members updated on test results or treatment recommendations
- Maintain contact with laboratory personnel to report any initial lab findings back to the ER doctors
- Make arrangements for patients that are deemed to need care requiring them to be admitted for one night or longer
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred, but not required
- Valid California Nursing License
- 2+ years’ experience in an emergency medical setting
- Strong ability to work well on a team
- Exceptional communication skills
- TNCC and ENPC certification preferred, but not required
- ACLS, PALS, and BLS (AHA)
OTHER INFORMATION:
Shift: Days - Willing to work independently with an ER Technician,
On-call/call-back required. (Must be able to respond within 20 minutes.)
