Gastrointestinal Lab Nurses work directly with physicians and the anesthesia department. They handle the admission of patients who may have gastrointestinal disease and liver disease, and are responsible for taking care of all patients while they are at the hospital.ResponsibilitiesGastrointestinal Lab RN responsibilities consist of:
Prepping the patient for appointments.
Caring for the patients after they are out of anesthesia.
Instructing patients on all after procedure care.
Offer any other help regarding the procedure.
Participate in ongoing medical education.
RequirementsOne year of experience as an GI Lab Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Negative Drug Screen.
