As a Behavioral Health Care Advocate, you will be responsible for case management and utilization review of behavioral health and substance abuse cases. You'll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you recommend and manage the appropriate level of care throughout the entire treatment plan.

If you are located in the State of Washington, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephonic case management services to members which include coordination or care and behavioral health management consulting
  • Responsible for providing behavioral health education, coaching and treatment decision support for members
  • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Responsible for assessing current behavioral health status for members
  • Identify and prioritize gaps in care to develop plan of care to empower members to meet identified goals
  • Review treatment plans, and coordinate transitions between various areas of care
  • Obtain information from providers and coordinate services amongst providers and coordinate services amongst provider group

Required Qualifications:

    2 years Post Education (Master’s degree experience in a related mental health environment) Licensed Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D., or an RN with 2+ years of experience in behavioral health Licenses must be active and unrestricted in State of Washington Designated workspace and access to install in-home secure high-speed internet via cable/DSL Proficient Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance
 
Preferred Qualifications:

    Inpatient experience with mental health/substance abuse population Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients Experience working with the Medicaid population Experience in Utilization Review
