The Medical Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Chippenham Hospital:

• 32 bed Medical Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit
• Surgical Patients (spine, hip, stomach)
• Medical Patients (DKA, asthma, sepsis, respiratory failure, heart failure)
• Trauma Patients (MVC, falls, penetrating traumas - ex. gunshot wounds/stabbings, Pysch - ex. suicide attempts, etoh and drug abuse)
• Level I Trauma Certification
• Provisional Level I Burn Center (Burn/ Wound/ Skin Disorders)
• Primary Stroke Certification
• VV ECMO for respiratory patients on the ventilator
• Intensivists model
• Telemedicine
• Unit Based Shared Governance

Qualifications

Education:

Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing from a school of professional nursing (required) BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)  

Licensure/Certification:

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (required) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required) ACLS certification (preferred)

Experience:

1 year of nursing experience, ideally in an acute care environment (preferred)

Hours:

Full Time 12 hour shifts (7p to 7a) 72 hours every pay period (every two weeks) Weekend & Holiday Rotations
