Shift Details: Must be available M-F, Full Time Days
Actual schedule will be on days and can be negotiated.  Will work opposite of one other team member.

Job Details: Must have a current RN license. Current hospital experience. Experience in Critical Care, Surgery, PreOp, PACU, PAT preferred. Must be able to work independently and be detail oriented
Will search medical records for the day of surgery. Have the ability to work quickly  with daily deadlines. They will work  on a team of three. 2 RNs and one tech.  This person will search for and pull records that substantiate the medical history and risks for surgery candidates. 

If they have worked in the  following systems it’s helpful but not required: Allscripts, Trace, Careweb, Athena, Sovera  

They pull re Peds and place into a hard chart fort anesthesia, surgeons, PreOp nurses and PAT staff to use in either the patient’s appt or the day of surgery.  They also quickly review records for new info or issues that need addressed.  This is where experience comes in. Knowing what will stop a surgery if not addressed will help them search for records that explain or “ clear  “ certain risks for surgery.  An example of this is a pacemaker.  The patients  need to be “ assessed” so many times a year by a doctor. This person will search for that report that says the patient’s device has been “assessed” by a cardiologist or other specialist.   This person should be very detailed oriented and have the ability to work by them selves. This is a very small team doing large volumes of work.  Deadlines are important. Flexibility is crucial. What You Will Do: Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

  • Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
  • Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
  • Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
