SCHEDULE: Full-time


Cath Lab Short Stay RN Full-time – Days, No Weekends   Medical City North Hills is an award-winning 164-bed acute care hospital located in the heart of northeast Tarrant County in North Richland Hills. The hospital offers a full range of services, specializing in heart and vascular services, orthopedics, surgery, and emergency care and has been recognized as a Top Performer by The Joint Commission for 2013 - 2015.     Under the supervision of the Manager of the Cardiac Cath Lab, and Director of Perioperative Services, responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care Outpatient Services, and other areas of cardiac cath lab, and for all patient populations.  

  PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  2. Assess patients at intervals as stated in policies and procedures.
  3. Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
  4. Implement the plan of care by:
  1. Performing interventions necessary to ensure that the patient’s procedure is performed on the correct site, side and level, i.e., consent, interview, marking of site by physician;
  2. Communicating the patient’s current status to relevant parties throughout the continuum of care;
  3. Administering medications safely and correctly;
  4. Assessing the knowledge level of the patient or designated support person;
  5. Providing education regarding the expected psychosocial response, nutritional management, medication management, pain management, wound management, and expected responses to the operative or invasive procedure;
  6. Involving the patient or designated support person actively in decisions affecting his or her perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitation process;
  7. Protecting the patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy;
  8. Providing age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice; and
  9. Providing consistent and comparable care regardless of setting.
 
  • Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes.
  • Transfer care as applicable.
  • Delegate tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
  • Document nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly.
  • Collaborate effectively with other disciplines as applicable.
  • Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
  • Participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.
  • Maintain required competencies.
  • Pursue professional growth and participates in a professional organization.
  • Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

    Qualifications

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
      Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
    • Current registered nurse licensure in state of employment
      REQUIRED:
    • One year RN experience (i.e. Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, etc.)
    • Basic computer skills
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
