Work Schedule: Full-Time Coordinator Infection Control RNMedical City of Ft. Worth is a 320 bed MAGNET facility located in the heart of Fort Worth. It serves as a tertiary referral center not only for Tarrant County, but also numerous counties within a 90 mile radius. Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI Accredited AMI Program Accredited Stroke Center Cardiovascular center of Excellence Critical Care Unit – RN The counties’ most premier Transplant services facility- Fort Worth Transplant Institute POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Infection Control Director, the Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing surveillance of infectious diseases present in the hospital and takes appropriate steps to contain and prevent the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in accordance with CDC guidelines and hospital policies. The Coordinator is responsible for public reporting of hospital acquired infections to NHSN, CDC, TDH and Tarrant County Health Department. Provides support to the Infection Control Director with development and implementation of policies and protocols. Provides orientation to new staff associates regarding infection control principles and provides ongoing education and resources for patient care units. Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
- Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience.
- Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of database systems
- Possesses strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- RN with current licensure or RN with temporary permit to practice from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) desired (or obtain within 2 years)
