POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Nursing Supervisor supports the management of a defined patient care area to provide a climate optimal for the provision of individualized, goal directed nursing care that supports the mission, vision, values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Nursing Department and promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community. The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for their practice, care coordination and is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices.

Our 40-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation RNs provides continuing, skilled care for adult patients while they recover their strength and functioning after debilitating injury, stroke, trauma, amputation, neurological disorders, orthopedic intervention and surgical procedures. Teamwork is the key on our floor as we interact well with our Physicians, Therapists and Social Workers. From treatment to patient and family education, our rehabilitation specialists customize a plan of care based on each individual’s diagnosis, needs and personal goals.

Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing, BSN required. Nursing Supervisors hired after July 1, 2011 must have a BSN. MSN preferred.
Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted, National Specialty Certification in practice area or plan to achieve within one year of hire.
2 years hospital nursing experience in area of clinical specialty
Special Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing
Previously demonstrated management potential preferred
