LPN Hours: 7A-7P OR 7P-7A Openings: 2 days, 2 nights Pay: $43-$48 per hour Location: Randallstown, MD Contract: 13-weeks Start Date: 4/12/2021 Unit Summary: Under the supervision of the Unit Manager and Unit charge nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of nursing and basic physical assessment skills in the development of and implementation of individualized nursing care plans to ensure that the needs of the residents are met. Assists in the orientation of the supervision of nursing personnel; and attends to the daily operations of the unit on a per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role as needed. The Subacute Care Unit bridges the gap between hospital and home by providing skilled nursing and therapy services for patients recovering from stroke, cardiac and respiratory illness, orthopedic surgery and other medical conditions. Strategically located within a hospital setting, the 17-private-bed unit provides short-term medical and rehabilitation services. Qualified medical staff members provide each patient with the best possible, evidence-based care so that patients can better focus on their recovery. Convenient access to acute hospital services when needed, including diagnostic testing, CT scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and basic medical procedures make patient stays as efficient as possible. Requirements: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing • Registered Nursing License • 1+ years of experience in subacute care • BLS • EKG • Basic computer skills • Healthstream • IV pump • Phillips Monitoring System • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Unit Services: • Rehabilitation • Physical Therapy • Occupational Therapy • Speech-Language Pathology • Recreational Therapy Going Home The Subacute Care Unit provides short-term care, meaning that patients go home to their permanent living arrangements once their treatment goals are met. Social workers assist with discharge planning and follow-up services. These social workers also help patients receive the level of benefit coverage they are entitled to and connect with any community resources they might need after leaving the hospital. Physical Demands: Heavy - Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to move objects. Work Environment: Atmospheric Conditions - Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation, that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin. Substances - Potential exposure to hazardous substances, chemicals, equipment and reagents. Blood-Borne Pathogen Exposure Contact Job - Potential exposure to patient blood and/or body fluid or air-borne contaminants. Noise - Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss.
