Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse – Full-time Night Shift In collaboration with other members of the perioperative team, the Recovery Room RN develops, coordinates, and implements a plan of care based on patient assessment, knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia plan, physician orders, application of relevant policies/procedures and AORN/ASPAN guidelines. • Perform a comprehensive nursing assessment of the post-op patient and closely monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness as the patient recovers from the effects of anesthesia • Proactively observe and act accordingly to treat pain, nausea, and other patient post-op symptoms and any side effects of anesthesia • Administer medications as ordered by the physician and assess the surgical site for bleeding / change bandages. • Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice Join our team and you will experience a total rewards package to support your health, life, career, and retirement including: • A supportive and collaborative work environment • Opportunities to progress in function, skill, and pay • Generous tuition assistance, student loan repayment and clinical certification support • A comprehensive health and wellness package including medical, dental and prescription drug coverage • 401K and Employee Stock Purchase Plan • HCA's Time Away From Work Program that combines paid time off, disability coverage and leaves of absence (including paid family leave) Medical City Plano is a full-service, Magnet-designated 600+-bed acute care hospital with more than 2,070 employees. QualificationsWhat you need to be successful: • ADN required / BSN preferred • Texas RN license or compact license is accepted • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required • Must have at least one (1) year high-acuity PACU RN experience in a busy hospital setting OR may consider an RN with a minimum of two (2) years current critical care experience We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
