Legacy Silverton Medical Center Nestled in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, serving the needs of the communities near Salem, Oregon - approximately 50 miles south of Portland - Legacy Silverton Medical Center offers a comprehensive mix of services, many of which are not typically available in a small rural hospital.
The 12 bed 24-hour Emergency Department is staffed with RNs and Paramedics and is a Level IV Trauma facility. Silverton Health provides a comprehensive emergency service to all patients presenting to the department on a 24-hour basis, accepting all patients for treatment. Patients are triaged according to a 5-level triage system, assessed according to acuity and receive emergency care and medical referral as necessary. The patients will be discharged, admitted to the hospital, or transferred for further specialized treatment not available at Silverton Health. Silverton Health staff are specialized emergency healthcare providers who have advanced qualifications and experience. An on-call list of specialty physicians is maintained to assist in stabilizing patients. Support services including but not limited to clinical laboratory studies and diagnostic imaging are provided to the patient in a timely manner.
The RN Staff Nurse SH position at Legacy Silverton Medical Center falls under an agreement between the Oregon Nurses Association and Silverton Medical Center and will include union dues. Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer.Qualifications
As required by licensure. BSN preferred.
One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration.
Emergency RN experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
